Fr. Vladyslav

Biography

Father Vladyslav Budash was born February 8, 1983 in Chernihiv Ukraine. After graduating from school, he entered in St. Thomas Aquinas’ higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Kyiv and graduated with a Master of Religious Sciences. Subsequently Father continued his studies in St. Nicolas Institute of Ecumenical and Patristic Greek – Byzantine Theology in Bari Italy. After completion of the Interactive Courses and of the Licentiate Courses he graduated as Licentiate in Holly Theology (Licenza in Sacra Teologia). Father Vladyslav and his wife Natalia have three boys: Bohdan, Liubomyr, and Illia


Vocation

On December 19, 2009 Fr. Vladyslav received from Most Rev. Milan Shashik Bishop of Mukachevo diaconal ordination. Then on September 25, 2010 Fr. Vladyslav was ordained as priest by Most Rev. Milan Shashik Bishop of Mukachevo. He began his ministry as a parochial Vicar of the Holy Trinity Parish in Uzghorod Ukraine.


In 2011 to 2019 he was the Pastor of Saints Princes Vladimir and Olga Parish in Uzghorod. At the same time he was also the Notary of the Eparchial Judicial Tribunal of the Eparchy of Mukachevo. From 2012 to 2014 he was the chaplain of the Regional Clinical Center of Neurosurgery in Uzghorod. After that he was then chaplain for the 4th infantry battalion of National Guard of Ukraine in Uzghorod. Lastly, from 2015 to 2019 he was the Pastor of The Compassion of The Theotokos Chapel.

At the invitation of Bishop Kurt Burnett, Fr. Vladyslav arrived with this family at the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic. He was first the Parochial Vicar of St. Ann Parish in Harrisburg PA. Beginning on January 8, 2020, he and his family moved to Long Island and he is now the priest of the Resurrection Byzantine Catholic Parish of Smithtown, NY.
